His Gift

Such precious gift He gave to human kind
   That brings together spirit, mind, and heart
When our bodies lovingly combine
   To share as one our passion's work of art.

With awareness of our need for love,
   We bring emotion to our carnal feasts
And caring for each other rise above
   Simplistic acts in common with the beasts.

Drawing close in joyful sanctity
   I enter temple of my lover's soul.
Entangled there in timeless ecstasy
   Fulfilling precious wanting as our goal.

Only heretics could say I've sinned
To share God's loving gift with my sweet friend.
